A “Green Transformation-Focused Entrepreneurship” conversation was held for Medipol META Talks meetings organized by Istanbul Medipol University Technology Transfer Office. As speakers, the Director of Istanbul Medipol University Sustainable Development Application and Research Center (SURKAM) Prof. Rana Atabay Kuşcu, the Founder of MikroalgeX Giuliano Regonesi, and the Deputy Dean of the School of Pharmacy Dr. Ayşe Esra Karadağ participated in the meetings held at the North Campus. Prof. Kuşçu was the first to speak in the conversation and said that the biggest cause of climate change is humans. Kuşçu stated that carbon consumption, hunger, and migration are among the causes of climate change. Emphasizing the 17-item ‘Sustainable Development Goals’, Kuşçu underlined that the green transformation in the industry supports the economy by contributing to both the strategic goals of companies and employment. The Founder of MikroalgeX Giuliano Regonesi stated that their aim as a company is to ensure that the places where people live are clean, healthy, and livable. Noting that microalgae technology is used for cleaning the air, Regonesi added that the device they developed absorbs carbon dioxide, releases oxygen, and destroys bacteria, viruses, and chemicals in the environment. Dr. Ayşe Esra Karadağ also emphasized that microalgae can be used in raw materials, such as food, medicine, vitamins, and proteins, and that microalgae waste contributes to the circular economy.

The 3rd National Student Congress of Speech and Language Therapy was organized in cooperation of Istanbul Medipol University School of Health Sciences Department of Speech and Language Therapy and the Association of Speech and Language Therapists. At the congress, which included many participants from various cities of Türkiye, suggestions regarding the current conditions and practices about language and speech therapy were presented. The prominent names in the field, including Prof. Ahmet Konrot, Prof. Elçin Tadıhan Özkan, Assoc. Prof. Fatma Esen Aydınlı, and Assoc. Prof. M. Emrah Cangi attended the congress, where sessions on career, stuttering, voice disorders, swallowing disorders, and motor speech disorders were held. The opening speeches of the congress were delivered by Head of the Department of Speech and Language Therapy Assoc. Prof. Sertan Özdemir and the President of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists Prof. İlknur Maviş. Prof. Özdemir stated that the congress was held in a short time following the rapid preparation process and thanked the participants and those who contributed to the organization of the congress. Speaking at the congress held at the South Campus Conference Hall, the President of the Association of Speech and Language Therapists Prof. İlknur Maviş shared that it was a pleasure to be able to hold the third congress, which they took a break for four years due to the pandemic.

The Iranian Delegation consisting of Scientific Diplomacy Advisor to the Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Alireza Kohkan, Deputy Consul General of Iran in Istanbul Muhtar Shah Hosseini, and Cultural Attaché of the Consulate General of Iran in Istanbul Hasan Didban visited our President Prof. Ömer Ceran. During the meeting held at the President’s Office, the possibilities of cooperation between our University and higher education institutions in Iran were discussed. A souvenir photo was taken at the end of the visit, which also included Istanbul Medipol University International Business Development Officer Abdullah Selim Vardarbaş.

Istanbul Medipol University hopes to improve intercultural competence and social cohesiveness by creating a conducive learning atmosphere for international students. Ombudsman for the Anti-Discrimination and Equality is pioneering in improving the prevention principle of discrimination and equality in higher education institutions. The office offers a reliable system for guaranteeing equity, eliminating prejudice against students, and conducting fair assessments.

The articles describe the daily operations of Istanbul Medipol University's Office of the Ombudsman for Anti-Discrimination and Equality. The office responds to student complaints regarding discrimination, settles disputes, and upholds the equality principle by taking appropriate action. International university students can feel safe and improve their skills by interacting with people from different cultures more often in this way. 

 The Office of Ombudsman for the Anti-Discrimination and Equality of Istanbul Medipol University, led by Fırat Semih Avşar, is acknowledged for its exceptional leadership in enhancing international students' multicultural competencies and overall experience. By this excellent example, other higher education institutions are motivated to adopt similar measures to reinforce the values of equality and non-discrimination.

At the event organized by Istanbul Medipol University, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Nohutçu gave students information about the public vocational exams they will take after graduation and advised them on career planning.

In the program moderated by Asst. Prof. Ergün Dilaveroğlu, Nohutçu, a faculty member at Istanbul Medeniyet University, emphasized that everyone has a purpose in life.

Stating that work done with good intentions can take people beyond their dreams, Nohutçu said: "You need a map to succeed. Working hard is not necessary, but working adequately and correctly. It is nice to know a lot, but it is more important to appreciate it. Have a questioning nature. The inquiring mind sees the light and takes action. You are the young people who will have a say in the future of this country. If you start your studies now, you will see that you will overcome obstacles one by one to achieve your goals both in your education life and in your career. I dreamed of becoming a district governor but became an academician instead. That's why I am so happy."
 

Istanbul Medipol University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Dean Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Arslan and the CoSINC Research Group he leads were accepted as full members of 6G-IA (The 6G Smart Networks and Services Industry Association), one of Europe's most respected communication communities. 6G-IA is considered one of the most compelling communities in 5G and 6G studies, aiming to increase cooperation by bringing together many leading industries and research groups in Europe.
