How To Get To Medipol University
How to get to Istanbul Medipol University
As Medipol University, we have 3 campuses. One of them is located at the European side of the city while the other two are located at the Anatolian/Asian side. You’ll need to arrive at the Anatolian side.
How to arrive at the Medipol Campuses
Bus: You can get on the E-3 Sabiha Gökçen-Levent subway or 122 H bus line in order to arrive at Kavacık. You’ll get off at the station called “Kavacık Köprüsü.” Also you can get on the Havabus Shuttle. HAVAIST buses can be used to reach the Kavacık Campuses from Istanbul Airport. You need to get the bus HVIST-9 and get off the bus at the first stop, Kavacık. The HAVAIST bus journey costs 32 TRY (please see the official website of HAVAIST to get the most up-to-date information). It takes 10 to 15 minutes to walk the campus from the stop.
HAVAIST buses can be used to reach the Unkapanı Campus from Istanbul Airport. You need to get the bus HVIST-15 and get off the bus at the stop Aksaray. The HAVAIST bus journey costs 25 TRY (please see the official website of HAVAIST to get the most up-to-date information). Then you can take public transportation or take a taxi to reach the Unkapanı Campus. It takes 6 to 10 minutes with taxi, 10 to 15 minutes by bus to reach the campus. The taxi journey approximately costs 15 TRY. Bus fare is 3.5 TRY for adults, 1.7 TRY for students.
Istanbul buses are all cashless, so you need an Istanbul Card. You can use Istanbul Card on HAVAIST buses as well. If do not have one, you can download the HAVAIST mobile application to create an account, then top up journey credits. You cannot pay with cash on the HAVAIST buses.

Residence Permit
Having arrived in Turkey, and after completing your university registration, the most important thing you need to do is to apply for a residence permit.
After you fill out the application form at https://e-ikamet.goc.gov.tr/ deliver paperwork from your international student affairs office.
You will be able to carry out all formal transactions as long as you stay in Turkey with your residence card and foreign identification (YU) number you receive after your application.
If your residence card does not expire, it can be used while entering or leaving Turkey, and thus you do not need to get a new visa. It is important that you renew your residence permit before the validity period expires.
You are exempt from the residence application fee as a student, you are only required to pay the card fee.

Following the protocol signed as of November 29, 2023, international students must submit their student residence permit files to the University.
Documents required for the residence application file:
Residence permit registration/application form (wet signature by the student)
Passport and copy of the seal page showing the date of entry into Turkey (document regarding a student visa if there is one)
Copy of student residence ID document (will provide if available)
Student certificate
4 biometric photographs
Valid health insurance
- GSS document or document from SSI stating that you have applied for GSS
- Private health insurance covering the residence permit request period
Document showing the address information where s/he is staying
- A photocopy of the title deed (tapu senedi) if staying in your own home
- For extension applications, proof of residence and invoice (fatura) in his/her own name (If the invoice owner does not have an invoice in his/her name, the invoice owner must submit a notarized undertaking. The person making the commitment must have an income certificate and a valid residence/T.R. ID.)
- If staying with a rental agreement, a notarized copy of the rental agreement (The Rental Agreement must be made in 'Arrangement' form by the landlord and the tenant before the notary).
- Hotel etc. If staying in accommodation places, document proving that you stay in these places and a receipt showing the payment for the stay
- If staying in student dormitories, a document proving that you are staying in a dormitory. If the document is not e-signed and barcoded must submit dormitory signature circular. (imza sirküleri)
- If the sponsor is staying with him, the notarized commitment of the person he is staying with (If the supporter is married, also the notarized commitment of his/her spouse) (The supporter must have a legal stay in Turkey.)

Important notes to note:
After creating the residence permit application form, the student must go and submit their fingerprints at the specified centers, with the residence permit application form on the same day or the next day, without waiting for the automatic appointment date. Then, they must immediately submit their file to the international office within 2 days, regardless of the appointment date.
Files that are not delivered urgently and within the specified periods will be returned due to the University's 15-day rule, calculated according to the appointment date. Students will need to create a new form with an updated date for the returned files that are not evaluated.
Students must first provide fingerprint permission. They must go to the fingerprint centers mentioned below with the application forms and give a fingerprint and the fingerprint criminal number starting with GI or LS or DB must be written on the application form. The files of students who come to the International Student Affairs Office without providing fingerprints will not be received and the files will be returned for delivery after their fingerprints are taken.
Students whose fingerprints were previously taken during the residence permit application must also submit fingerprints again.
- Students coming to submit their files are required to have their passports with them during submission.
For foreigners under 18 years of age;
- For those who come with a visa exemption or a visa for a different purpose;
Document containing parent/guardian information (birth certificate, family certificate, etc.) and letter of consent to the 3rd person given by the parent/guardian/legal representative and letter of undertaking of the 3rd person
- For those who come with a student visa;
Documents containing consent and parent/guardian information will not be attached.

- Kira sözleşmesi ile kalıyorsa kira sözleşmesinin noter onaylı örneği (Kira Sözleşmesi ev sahibi ve kiracının noter huzuruna giderek ‘Düzenleme şeklinde’ yapılmış olması gerekmektedir.)
-Otel vb. konaklama yerlerinde kalınıyorsa bu yerlerde kalındığına dair belge ve kalacağı sürenin ödemesini gösterir makbuz.
-Öğrenci yurtlarında kalınıyorsa yurtta kalındığına dair belge. Belge barkotlu ve kare kodlu değilse Yurt imza sirküleri.
- Destekleyici yanında kalınıyorsa, yanında kaldığı kişinin noter onaylı taahhüdü (Destekleyici evli ise ayrıca eşinin de noter onaylı taahhüdü) (Destekleyicinin Türkiye’de yasal kalışının bulunması gerekmektedir.)İkamet izni belge bedelinin ödendiğine dair makbuz

Dikkat Edilmesi Gereken Önemli notlar:
- Öğrenci ikamet izni başvuru formunu oluşturduktan sonra otomatik olarak gelen randevu tarihini beklemeksizin ve dikkate almadan ikamet izni başvuru formuyla birlikte aynı gün veya ertesi gün içinde gidip parmak izini belirtilen merkezlerde vermelidir. Daha sonra yine randevu gününü dikkate almadan aciliyetle 2 gün içerisinde dosyasını uluslararası ofise teslim etmelidir.
Aciliyetle ve belirtilen sürelerde teslim edilmeyen dosyalar, Üniversitenin randevu gününe göre hesaplanan 15 gün kuralı nedeniyle iade edilme durumuyla karşılaşacaktır. Bu iade olup değerlendirmeye alınmayan dosyalar için güncel tarihli yeni form oluşturmanız gerekecektir.
Öğrencilerin öncelikle parmak izni vermesi gerekmektedir. Aşağıda belirtilen parmak izni merkezlerine başvuru formları ile giderek parmak izni vermeleri ve başvuru formuna GI, DB ya da LS ile başlayan parmak izi kriminal numarası yazılması gerekmektedir. Parmak izi vermeden Uluslararası Öğrenci İlişkileri Ofisine gelen öğrencilerin dosyaları teslim alınmayacak ve dosyalar parmak izi alındıktan sonra teslim edilmesi için iade edilecektir.
Daha önce ikamet izni başvurusu esnasına parmak izi alınmış öğrencilerin de tekrar parmak izi vermeleri gerekmektedir.
Dosya teslimine gelen öğrencilerin teslim esnasında pasaportlarını yanında bulundurmaları zorunludur.
18 yaşından küçük yabancılar için;
- Vize muafiyetiyle ya da farklı amaca yönelik vizeyle gelenler için; veli/vasi bilgisini içeren belge (doğum belgesi, aile belgesi vb.) ve veli/vasi/yasal temsilcisi tarafından verilen 3. Kişiye muvafakatname ve 3. Kişinin taahhütnamesi

STEPS FOR DEMANDING STUDENT CERTIFICATE
In order to request/demand a Student Certificate;
1. After logging into MEBİS, click on the “Student” menu.
2. Click the “Document Operations” menu from the drop-down menus.
3. Click on the “Add New Document Request (+)” icon on the Document Operations screen and fill in the required information on the Document Request Form. (With / without picture, Turkish / English and wet signature status should be marked)
4. Click on the “Save” button at the bottom of the Document Request Form and let the request reach the Student Affairs Unit.
*** For visa applications and documents that foreign students will request to be submitted to the Provincial Immigration Administration, the “Wet Signature” status in the “Add New Document Request (+)” tab on the Document Operations screen must be marked.
In order to receive your “Student Certificate” you have requested;
1. After logging into MEBİS, click on the “Student” menu.
2. Click the “Document Operations” menu from the drop-down menus.
3. If your document is “Ready” in the opened tab, a “Download” button will appear on the right. Click the “Download” button and download the e-signed document. (Wet Signed Student Documents are not downloaded via Mebis system.)
4. Your document will be downloaded to your computer in PDF format. To open the document, “PDF Viewer” programs must be available on your computer. (Foxit Reader or Adobe Reader etc.)
5. Your document is ready to print with e-signature.
Those who study at private education institutions at the international primary and secondary education level and at the schools opened by embassies in the country and at the primary and secondary education institutions in Turkey and abroad can apply.
You can apply through e-equivalency module from: https://edenklik.meb.gov.tr/ . Take an appointment and after that bring your documents to International Student Affairs Office
