Istanbul Medipol University hosted a prominent guest from Osh State University (Kyrgyzstan), Assoc. Prof., MD Akshoola K. Turusbekova. The intention of this visit was to enhance further collaboration between two institutions as well as to explore Istanbul Medipol University’s facilities in different scientific fields. During the visit to our university, meetings were helt with several academics. The first gathering was held by Assoc. Prof., Dr. Irina Shelenkova, the International Relations Executive about further cooperation steps and the partnership in terms of the Academic Staff Exchange program. Assoc. Prof., Dr. Indrani Kalkan, the Head of the Department of Nutrition and Dietetics, welcomed our visitor in her office to discuss up-to-date projects. After the discussion, the guest had a chance to take a tour in SABITA, the research center of Istanbul Medipol University. Assist. Prof. Esra Nur Yiğit shared the information about the studies, technologies and the infrastructure of SABITA. During the tour, Assoc. Prof. Turusbekova highly valued our university resources. One more meeting was conducted in the International School of Medicine with its Vice-Dean, Prof. Dr. Mesut Yılmaz. They talked about the reach issues in medical field in details. With the support of Prof. Dr. Mesut Yılmaz, the delegate explored one of our microbiology laboratories, and she was informed about the innovative research and high-quality education in this area at Istanbul Medipol University. Towards the end of the discussion, a detailed tour on the South Campus was given including other medical labs. We wish our university a fruitful and advanced teamwork with Osh State University.
